Picking the name of a business is tough, I can't imagine the struggle to choose a baby name! Here's the story behind the name, enjoy!
Short version: Like when a guy scores a touchdown, except for girls.
Real version: I have so many childhood memories centered around sports. From staying up late to watch the Bulls own the court in the 90s, to playing softball every summer, sporting events were a staple in my life. There were no professional teams in Tennessee until 1997, so the logical team for the entire state to rally behind was the University of Tennessee, and my family was no exception. ALL-VOL-EVERYTHING. If the games were not on cable television, we would tune our radios to John Ward on Saturday afternoons in the Fall.
John Ward was the play-by-play broadcaster for the Vols for over 30 years, and his voice is legendary. The pure excitement John Ward shot through the radio when calling a touchdown was electrifying. He would exclaim, "Give Him Six! Touchdown, Tennessee! (T) " and the entire state would cheer.
The joyful memories of days when my little world stopped to cheer on the Vols sparked by John Ward's voice are magical. The power sports have to bring people together and feel all the feels is magical. I wanted to capture that spirit in the name of my game day apparel line, Give Her Six was born.
